GaragePass ("we," "us") connects musicians with people who have a garage, basement, backyard, or practice room to rent by the hour. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your raw password).
Date of birth: collected at signup solely to determine whether an account belongs to a minor, which triggers our parent-approval requirements below. We do not use date of birth for any other purpose.
Location: precise location is used to show nearby spaces on the map and to timestamp check-in/check-out at a booked session. Location is requested only while using relevant features, not collected continuously in the background.
Photos: listing photos (for hosts) and an optional profile photo. Camera or photo library access is requested only when you choose to add a photo.
Booking and messaging activity: booking requests, statuses, check-in/check-out times, and in-app messages between a host and musician for a specific booking.
Device and diagnostic data: crash reports and basic usage analytics (via Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics) so we can find and fix real problems. This includes device identifiers and crash logs, not message content.
To operate core functionality (the map, bookings, check-ins, messaging), to keep the parent-approval system working for minor accounts, to detect abuse and respond to reports, and to fix bugs and crashes.
If an account holder is under 18, a parent or guardian must link their own GaragePass account (matched by email) and approve the minor's account and each booking before the minor can attend a session. Parents can view their linked minor's booking activity and check-in notifications at any time from the Parent Dashboard. We do not knowingly collect more information from a minor than is needed for this safety flow.
Messages between a host and musician are tied to a specific booking and are visible only to the two parties on that booking (and, for a minor's booking, the linked parent, for oversight only — a parent cannot send messages). We keep communication in-app rather than exchanging phone numbers directly, which lets us review message content in response to a report of abuse, harassment, or a safety concern.
Any user can report or block another user in-app. We review reports and may suspend or remove accounts that violate our Terms of Service. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE) in any form; any confirmed instance is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement as required by law.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work (Google Firebase for authentication, database, storage, and push notifications) and when required by law.
You can review and update most profile information in the app, block another user, and request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us below. Deleting your account removes your profile; booking records tied to another party's booking history may be retained as needed for safety and dispute records.
